6 Great Benefits of Swimming For Exercise

Swimming is considered to be the best exercise a man can do. It is one of those few exercises in which all of your body parts are used. It's an effective exercise that will help you to keep in good shape, loose weight and remain healthy. You will feel more refreshed and will be physically fit than your friends.
Most people get bored of performing a single exercise but swimming is one of those exercises that won't let you get bored. Here are some benefits of swimming.
1.Improving your capacity: swimming allows you to use your arms, legs and lungs all at the same time. This     increases your acrobatic capacity as you are using all of your body parts at the same time.
2.Strengthening your heart: swimming helps you to build your heart muscle which in return allows it to pump blood at a much faster rate. This increases your blood circulation which is good for a person's health.
3.Strength against disease: research has proved that people who have a sedentary life seem to develop heart problems, joint problem and obesity when compared to those who swim regularly. Swimming helps in strengthening your body muscles and provides you with more endurance which helps you to fight against the above diseases.
4.Building muscle: as it is known that water creates more resistance than air so you need to try much hard when it comes to swimming. You have to try 12 times harder when compared to working on land. This makes your major body parts like hips, shoulders, arms and back to exert 12 times more power. As a result of this you develop stronger muscles.
5.Safe exercise: another benefit of swimming is that it is one of safest and cushioned form of physical exercise a person can find. If a person suffers from joint pains then swimming is a good form of exercises for him. He won't feel any pain while swimming as compared to working out on land. Professional athletes use water for rehabilitation purpose when they suffer injury.
6.Workout time: if you are a beginner than you should hire a swimming coach or join a swimming club which offers training services. For beginners 10 to 15 minutes of swimming is enough but if you are a pro than it depends on your capacity and stamina.
No matter what people say but swimming is the safest and most effective form of physical exercise these days.

Health Benefits of Honey

Controlling Cholesterol
What's happening my friends? It's Friday and I am enjoying the fact that I live in a state that has nice weather pretty much all year. Well except summer. It can get pretty hot them but I digress!
I wanted to chat with you about some of the health benefits of honey as it relates to your cholesterol. I know some of you are trying to clean up your life and get back to a healthy state of mind and body for that matter, and today I am sharing some information about mother nature's little secret - and that is honey!
Now I am not talking about your run of the mill store-bought honey that some of you might be thinking of. No way. I am referring to you your local, raw, organic honey, that in my case, I get right of the side of the road! Yes, that's right, I am talking honey from a local bee keeper who happens to sell relief to many common aliments we, as a society have today. More on my honey dealer later!
If you are like me, you do your best to educate yourself and learn how you can control or even lower your cholesterol the natural way without buying into the notion that you must do westernized medication in order to keep from having a heart attack. Well let me introduce to you something that is not put into a pill and is in my opinion, much better than the medication that ends up damaging your liver. Meet honey and cinnamon.
Would you believe me if I told you that many of our problems today (ADHD, obesity, cancers, etc) could be eradicated just by going back to the basics of life and keeping things simple? Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't but I can tell you what works for me and hopefully it can work for you! Fair enough?
Just so you know, I had a heart attack back when I was 29 and it was due largely to the fact I had a clogged artery. Yes it was a 50% blockage along with the stresses of military life that caused the myocardial infarction.
So the docs put me on Statins, which are drugs to help lower cholesterol. Trouble is, after months of taking that stuff blindly, meaning not asking why should I take this because I thought the doctor, trained in western philosophy of "give em a pill and they will be okay, who is my next patient" I found it to be damaging to my liver, and causing more problems than what I was taking the pill for in the first place!
To make a long story short, I started educated myself on what I could do to prevent this from happening again, the natural way and bam, you have raw honey and cinnamon. Things that have been around since the beginning of time!
Did you know (this is your take away from this post) that by mixing 2 table spoons of cinnamon powder mixed in about 16 ounces of tea water, you can lower your cholesterol by 10%? This is huge for those trying to do it the natural way like me!
So I wanted to make sure you knew this and implemented this into your life so as to help you create a better life by making better choices! I hope I have somehow eluded to the fact that I am here to educate and not manipulate, so do me a favor and let me know what you thought of this post! If you liked it, then share it with someone you know, like and trust! If you did not like this post, then some guys in black suits will come and visit you and wipe you memory from you, and you can go on about your life!
That is all I have for you today my friend! As I sign off, let me remind you that... "Your Purpose Must Be Bigger Than Your Problems!" If you are inspired by that you can find more on our motivational page. Please like it and share with those you love!
Here are more fun facts about bees!
  • A honeybee can fly approximately 15 miles per hour.
  • A honeybee will flap its wings about 11,000 times per minute creating that "BUZZ" sound.
  • A typical beehive makes more than 400 pounds of honeycomb per year.

What Are The Benefits Of A Swimming Pool And Spa?

One of the most obvious benefits of using a swimming pool and spa, for the average person, is the simple act of relaxation. There is nothing more fun, to many people, than an early morning swim, or soaking in a nice warm spa after they get out of a hard day at the office.
There have also been extensive studies done around the world on the health benefits of a swimming pool and spa. The benefits of hydrotherapy, whether in a swimming pool, or in a spa, are wide-spread. However, when you use both a spa and a swimming pool, the possibilities and benefits are endless.
While many people think that only athletes use hydrotherapy, this can not be further from the truth. It is true that athletes can exercise, relieve muscle tension and improve their over all athletic performance through the use of a swimming pool and spa. However, you certainly do not need to be a professional athlete to reap the amazing health benefits of hydrotherapy treatments.
Many of the people who benefit a great deal from this form of hydrotherapy are those who are recovering from injuries. Arm, leg and back injuries can all be improved with these techniques. However, if you've been seriously injured, it is best to consult with a doctor before attempting pool and spa treatment on your own.
Millions of people with various other medical conditions can and do benefit from the effects of a swimming pool and spa all the time as well. Many people that suffer from such things as arthritis, obesity, physical disabilities, and even learning disabilities, have all been shown to greatly benefit from swimming pool and spa treatments.
In fact, even man's best friend, his dog, can benefit from quality time spent in a swimming pool and spa. Many veterinarians recommend hydrotherapy, especially for large breed dogs. Large breed dogs are quite prone to knee and hip problems, which can both benefit from these treatments.
You may be thinking that it's impossible to have this sort of thing on your own property, especially if you do not have enough space in your yard for both a spa and a pool. However, a new product on the market, called a Swim Spa, which makes it even easier to bring this sort of hydrotherapy treatment to your own home.
A Swim Spa is essentially an over-sized spa with an added current. This allows a person, or pet, to soak in warm, relaxing water, while still swimming and exercising against a legitimate current and with plenty of space. The best thing about a Swim Spa is that it eliminates the need for a full-sized swimming pool and a spa and thus cuts back on the amount of space needed.
So, whether you simply enjoy swimming and soaking in a warm spa, or you have a medical condition that could benefit from the treatment, consider making a swimming pool and spa treatment a regular part of your personal routine. You will see immediate health benefits and have fun at the same time!

Best Treatment for Dry Hair - 2 Effective Moisturizing Techniques

Here is the best treatment for dry hair that you do not want to miss out on. I am going to share with you some simple tips that you can do in the comforts of your own homes.
Most of the common advice given by most people does not seem to work very effectively. Well, there is actually a very simple way to treat your dry hair without going for expensive treatments. Read this now if you want to know some of the best and effective treatments for dry hair.
  1. Avoid using highly commercial shampoos
Natural products are essential if you want to have healthy looking hair. The problem with most shampoos or conditioners nowadays is that they contain a lot of chemicals which can actually damage your hair in the long run. Just think about it, chemicals are harsh as they do not have similar pH as the hair and skin. They strip the natural oils from the hair, causing it to be frizzy and dry.
Shampoos which contain natural ingredients can be absorbed better by your hair and scalp, allowing it to work well in maintaining the moisture in your hair. Look out for products that contain natural ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba and aloe vera. Those that contain a high percentage of these ingredients are often the best choice compared to those which only contain a small extract.
2. Use moisturizing raw ingredients on your hair
This is another very effective method in treating dry hair. In case you are wondering, you can use ingredients such as raw or unrefined shea butter or virgin coconut oil on your hair to moisturize it. Shea butter comes from a nut from a tree in Africa which contains a very high percentage of moisturizing fatty acids. Once applied onto your hair, the goodness of shea butter is easily absorbed into the hair roots and retains moisture, resulting in shinier and smoother hair.
Not many other natural products can beat the moisturizing content of shea butter. Even though it is slightly more troublesome, this is actually the best treatment for dry hair that you can find because it has no side effects at all. They are also suitable for all hair types, whether straight or curly and people of all age groups.
These are 2 of the best dry hair treatments that work very well. Try them out if you are desperate to get healthier hair. Treat the root of the problem instead of covering it up with various hair care products.
If you're sick and tired of trying product after product and not seeing any results, then...

The Key to Natural African Hair Care - Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

The key to healthy Black hair and growth is moisture. I just recently changed my moisturizing regiment, because while I religiously moisturized my hair, it was still very dry. I found that although I was frequenting African hair care vlogs and blogs like Curly Nikki, I wasn't truly paying attention to what contributors were writing about.
I think because my hair had grown 5 inches in 6 months (when previously I hadn't achieved any growth due to breakage) and I completely repaired the damaged sections of my hair, I thought my moisture regiment was on point. Boy was I wrong!
First, I would mixed around three tablespoons of coconut oil and one table spoon of olive oil together and heated it up in the microwave (not too hot). I would then wet my hair, soaked it with the hot oil and put on a heat cap for about 30 minutes. Next, I would co-wash (wash with conditioner) the oil out of my hair, spray in Hawaiian Silky leave-in conditioner and let my hair air dry. Once it was dry, I would moisturized my scalp with my Jojoba mix, which consists of 5 drops of Rosemary, 2 drops of Lavender to one tablespoon of Jojoba oil.
I then separate my hair into 11 big sections, twist each section, put on a satin bonnet and I'm done.
With this regiment, I didn't comb my hair much, once a month at best. I found that detangling with my fingers while co-washing worked just fine. Its common knowledge in the natural African hair care community that our hair isn't supposed to be combed or brushed too much and not combing worked for me when I grew my hair out over the winter.
My hair would only remain supple for ONE day on this regiment. It would literally be dried out on the second day even after re-spritzing with the leave-in.
I do co-wash two to three times a week, one because I can't stand that frowsy hair smell and two, washing allows me to get some moisture. Although some may consider 3 co-washes a week a bit much for dry hair, its the only way I can get that suppleness back.
My hair had always been super, duper dry and I just thought I had to live with that fact and do whatever I could to keep it moist for as long as possible. After sticking with this treatment for eight months I realized there should be something I could do to stay moisturized, so I started researching again.
I spent a couple of hours on Curly Nikki as opposed to just browsing for a few minutes and low and behold, I came across a post from a sista with baddest Afro I have ever seen in my life! One of the first things she wrote about was how dry her hair is and she went on to outline her moisture regiment.
When she co-washes, she uses around five different types of conditioner together and she doesn't rinse it out! Further, if she feels her hair is getting a little dry between co-washes, she'll spritz in more conditioner! I first thought that all of that conditioner would cause a lot of build-up and eventually be damaging, but the truth is everything the mainstream teaches us about natural African hair care is backward.
We can basically do the opposite of what other people do with their hair, especially in the case of conditioning. After all, her hair is incredible! She's maintained this regiment for the better part of six years and her hair is gorgeous, so all of that conditioning must be working!
As I researched on, I came across a post about sealing with oil. The post described how sealing locks in what ever type of moisturizer you are using and aids in keeping your hair moisturized. I've never sealed my hair. I figured since I hot oil treated my hair, oiled my scalp and used a very rich leave-in, I didn't need to put in any more oil. However, it was still very dry between co-washes, even when I added more leave-in, so whatever I was doing wasn't working and my hair was telling me it was time for something new.
So, when co-wash day rolled around, I dove right into this sista's moisture regiment. I co-washed with Garnier Fruictis Triple Nutrition and Suave Almond and Shea conditioner. I repeated the co-wash three times and on the third time, I didn't rinse it out. To seal it, I mixed Shea butter and coconut oil together until the consistency was a little thinner than normal Shea butter, but not too oily. After my hair dried,
I coated it liberally with the mix, but I didn't saturate it. I didn't use the Jojoba oil mix this time, because I wanted this regiment to be completely different to see what the results would be. I twisted my hair up as usually and put on my satin cap.
For this regiment, I combed and brushed my hair! I used a wide-tooth comb and a Con Air vented brush with the balls at the tips of the bristles. Although natural African hair care science doesn't condone too much combing and brushing, a lot of sistas comb and brush on a regular basis and their hair is fine. So, with this new regiment, I combed my hair out while co-washing and brushed it after putting in the Shea butter/coconut oil seal. Again, trying something new!
I must say, my hair is so dry, I didn't expect much difference. I actually felt my hair might be a bit too greasy and I would have to modify my hair style. LET ME TELL YOU!! When I took my twists out, I couldn't believe it! My hair wasn't greasy AT ALL and it was completely stretched out (shrinkage is a problem for naturals).
Usually, when I take out my twists and style my hair, it poofs out into an Afro. This time, my hair laid straight down curly, as if it was being weighed down, but without the greasy, heavy feeling. I can't believe it! My hair literally drank the Shea Butter and coconut oil seal and I think for the first time in a long time its truly happy!
I went to a festival that day and literally, the first sista I passed by stopped me to ask me about my hair - Shout Out to Lovita! - and needless to say I was a little excited to tell her all about my new conditioning method! I've only done it twice and my hair looks so good, I'm not worried about build up. I'll probably shampoo my hair a couple times per month just to clarify it.
From now on, I'm going to follow natural African hair care science to the letter - Shout out to Curly Nikki! Sistas that take the time to post information about natural African hair care REALLY know what they're talking about, just look at their hair! I had to learn that if my hair doesn't look good, its not getting what it wants and needs and instead of figuring I know everything there is to know, I should take some advice and do something different. Now go 'head and Grow Your Natural!
I've been part of the natural African hair care community for 17 years and I feel I have a few things to contribute to the science of natural African hair care. I read many natural hair blogs and I've implemented many of the techniques that have been created for natural Black hair. Information On Fake Tanning Lotions You Should Know Before Buying A Bottle

By Haywood Raptis

Many had completely given up sunbathing and switched to the use of fake tanning lotions. These topical solutions can darken the skin effectively minus UV radiation exposure. Using them allows for a lovely bronzed complexion without risking the health.

DHA is an ingredient common among many fake tanning lotions of today. The said chemical comes from sugar cane so you know that it won't irritate the skin. What's more, DHA has the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration.

Fake tanning lotions first made a splash back in the 60s. Health authorities that time started informing the public on the negative impact of sunbathing after several studies had linked skin cancer to unnecessary UV radiation exposure. However, most people were not completely satisfied with fake tanning lotions during those days as they produced an unrealistic skin tone.

Fake tanning lotions have come a long way since then. Their formulations have significantly improved, allowing these at-home solutions to produce a skin tone that looks just like what you get from sitting in the sun for several minutes. Knowing that they are in a competitive industry, manufacturers are compelled to dish out excellent products.

Using fake tanning lotions requires no exposure to UV radiation because melanin is not involved. This dark pigment multiplies when skin is exposed to sunlight. What these products do instead is to force dead cells on the skin's topmost layer to take on a deep brown hue. This chemical reaction is the primary role of DHA.

DHA found in fake tanning lotions takes about 3 hours to produce a noticeable skin tone change. It will continue to darken for the next 24 to 72 hours, depending on how light or dark your base complexion is. The lovely olive hue provided by DHA may be enjoyed until the layer of dead cells on the top of your skin is naturally replaced with a new one.

Fake tanning lotions usually cause an instantaneous skin darkening when rubbed on the skin. This happens due to the presence of brown dyes. Manufacturers add these ingredients to help make the application easier, minimizing the occurrence of blotches. Unlike the effect of DHA that stays for up to 10 days, brown dyes are easily washed off with water.

It's important for fake tanning lotions to be applied on the skin as evenly as possible to come up with a realistic tan. Because DHA works on dead skin cells present, exfoliating in the shower before using these at-home solutions has to be done to eliminate excess ones. Doing so also removes oils and chemicals from skincare products so that nothing interferes with DHA's action.

Today's fake tanning lotions are not cut from the same cloth. Before you decide to order a bottle, ask for recommendations. See what brands are trusted by family and friends who confess to being indoor tan enthusiasts. There are many product assessments online. Search for honest and informative reviews by individuals who have really used the at-home solutions being talked about. Let their observations be your guide in deciding which brand to go for.

Essential Tips On Sun Cream Review Before Buying

By Haywood Raptis

So many benefits can be achieved from reading sun cream review. Having great looking skin and also skin protected from harsh skin conditions has proven to be better with various sun creams that can be found on the market. There are so many sun creams that are being introduced onto the market.

There are some few brands amongst many other brands that can be seen in a sun cream review. The vast presence of these brands makes the competition rife and poses a challenge to the consumer as to which product will suit them best. The most important thing is to ensure that whatever product we choose, it must shield our skin from the sun.

Product can be quite deceiving if great care is not taken. This is because many people are paid to write great reviews about certain cream brands even if they have never used the cream before. There are so many ways to tell if particular sun cream review is real or not.

The internet is continuously being flooded with deceptive product reviews and one must exercise diligence when reading a sun cream review on any skin products, including sun screen. Due to the competition with beauty products being so tight, some companies will pay consumers to writer good reviews on their products. The person writing the biased sun cream review will have often times than not, have never used the product themselves.

A consumer seeking out a beauty product review must use due diligence to be able to filter between a biased sun cream review and an unbiased review. A consumer will be able to pick up from the language used in the sun cream review whether this review is honest or not. An example is that an honest review will not go overboard in promoting the product, whereas a biased one will.

Before you buy any sun cream, read sun cream review and be very cautious. Reading a bad sun cream review and going for the wrong cream for your skin to protect you from the sun can be very dangerous. There are a lot of people who have had very severe reactions to sun creams because they bought the incorrect product. Others have had to live with permanent skin defects because they used the wrong sun creams.

One cannot just read one sun cream review and make an informed decision based on that alone. There are a lot of cosmetics stores online, and it's advisable to read consumer's reviews on them too. In order for a decision to be made regarding a sun cream brand, one must spend time reading a lot of sun cream review on that brand, and the feeling or the conclusion with regards to that brand must be a consistent one.

A very important point to remember in the sun cream review is that no matter how good the sun cream used, one has to drink at least 2 liters of water a day. The other very important point is though there is nothing wrong with looking for bargains, one must be very careful of cheap sun creams. When a beauty product company has produced a quality sun cream, they will attach a price to it that is worthy of that product, so one must be careful of cheap imitations.
